Contained At Home

Learning or working online is something most people across the UK have had to do over the past few years due to the pandemic and Covid-19. This book looks at how every aspect of learning has been influenced by digital forms and how pupils and students have had to adapt their learning and life due to Covid-19 lockdowns.

'Contained at Home' looks at how the camera portrays a certain aspect of the imposed isolation and offers only a restricted view which does not reflect the 'real' situation. To develop this concept further the camera was reversed to take into account the 'other' lives being lived and how people tried to individualise their spaces. The images show objects which are personal and reflect a human and emotional context to counteract the imposed social isolation. Having these objects close to them makes the separation from those who we would usually spend time with a little easier to exist in.
